A gem of an album – but the video completely past me by. Was that before or after those guys burnt 1M£ ? Prefer the lo – cost version !

Ah, it was the KLF who did that – the whole story is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K_Foundation_Burn_a_Million_Quid

I sometimes wonder if the KLF made a deal in advance with the Bank of England to replace the notes, or if they used notes that were about to go out of circulation. There’s no evidence of this, though – it really does seem like they did it.

Mansun were formed in 1995, a year after the KLF’s stunt…
